This book by Steve is awesome
I created this image montage of my dog and part of the tutorial file for "Hiding and Showing" in Steve's book. Let me know what you think and how it could be improved.

(No, I'm not Steve)

I think the image is great, the only think I'd do is add a little more shadow on the bone, beneath the thumb.

Just had a look at your site, you're a b3tan eh? I spent some time there, a year or so back, a lot of fun

Re: Steve
Yes we b3tans get about a bit
http://www.4rthur.com is cool too.

I agree with you about the bone, but I wasn't sure where the shadow would fall as it is predominately front lit. But the shading underside of the bone will give a more 3d effect to a rather flat looking bone. Ta muchly.

That looks better, to me anyway - thanks

Re: Steve
I'd say, just a small darkened area in the top left corner where the bone intersects the thumb.

edit: Ooops, you did it while I was typing

Well, I hate to butt in on the tail end of this conversation, but I think it's a really cute image. The top hat and the monocle fit perfectly, although I have to say I preferred the top end of the bone without the shadow on it.

Just checked out your website too. Cracking load of animated GIFs! Among the best I've seen. What a witty maiden you are, to be sure.
Keep them coming!

Steve

Thanks Steve,
Luckily I always keep my PSD files so I will implement your idea. I've kept the original seperate from the second version so it will be no problem at all.

Much better. It's always a little weird seeing my hand holding things I don't remember holding, though!
