Mucking around
There was a Kill Bill theme on Flickr, a colleague took a photo of Uma Thurman holding the 'Pussy Wagon' keyring. I thought it would look better with the Council's logo

The keyring was created from a flat b&w GIF of the logo and given depth with Bas Relief and lighting effects.

Works really well David.

I initially thought it was a tad dark at the left edge of the logo but in rhetrospect I think you have blended it well with the existing shadow and looks like a totally unshopped image.

Thanks Maiden, it was really a quick mess-around, there are a couple of mistakes but it was interesting to make

Terrific Job David! Would you go into detail on how you used the Bas Relief and Lighting filters?

I don't like using Photoshop's filters, because the result looks as if it was created with a Photoshop filter. Your image, however, looks very realistic.

What's your secrete?

Oh blimey, I'll have to try and remember! The original logo was black and white, I selected the white areas with the Magic Wand and used Bas Relief. I used another layer above that and rendered the texture with an lighting effects using an alpha channel. The final layer was for the green colour.

I think that's how I did it, there was a lot of messing around in between! I may write a mini-tutorial on it..
