Daugter (And new to this forum).
Hi there, just registred onto this forum. This is an image I made for my daughters birthday (and got printed out as a poster for her).

The initial photo was of her with a lamp in her lap (lighting her face from below).

and oh yeah! - great book btw.

Lovely image Krister, as a bit of a camera buff may I ask what camera you used?

So you put a lamp in her lap, and spawned rays of light from her neck and hands? She should be on the next Harry Potter movie!

Only playing around, haha . Nice picture Krister and welcome to the forums, i'd also like to know what camera you used, thats one great quality image!!

Well you may have already gathered I've have one of those too. You seem to have mastered low light photography. What settings did you use and what type of lamp?

That looks really great, maybe i would just try to make the background a little bit smoother, and her face too, than it would really look like an airbrushed picture from a fantasy book

I was thinking the same thing too, Siouxie.

Using the Photoshop CS2 you can use the Noise/Reduce Noise Filter and set the settings on full to make a more paintly effect.

like so:

In this picture I used the Reduce Noise... filter at maximum setting then used Image/Fade Filter set at 'Normal' at 25% repeating the filter and fade a couple of times then used the Art History brush to bring back the detail in the eyes.
I hope you don't mind me doing this Krister - If you do I'll delete it.

Stunning image, Krister - and a really great treatment of it. I've tried so many times to simulate the effect of lighting from below, and nothing beats the real thing!

Welcome to the forum
