BEN NEVIS
Just climbed Ben Nevis (Gully No. 4, for those who know about these things) Heres a pic from the summit. Man, it was freezing up there ! And so windy !! Just managed to take this snap of my mate hanging on for dear life before I was just about blown off the side ....... ![]() _________________ |

Re: BEN NEVIS
Fantastic! What a great piece of work! And the bend on the pole really helps. Seamless! |

Re: BEN NEVIS
He found a normal pole and waited long enough for a bus to hit it, then photographed it. It happens all the time, or so they tell me ![]() _________________ mad as a badger and twice as furry |

Re: BEN NEVIS
Kevin P: I reckon he used 'Image Warp' to bend the pole. If not that then maybe liquify – though this would be more difficult. The montage is fantastic though, perhaps the only give-away is the bloke appears a little small in relation to the foreground rocks. However, they could be big bloody rocks! |

Re: BEN NEVIS
Ha ha !! Wait till I tell him !! I'm afraid the truth is far more prosaic - I didnt bend the pole, that part is real - infact most of it is untocuhed....its what I removed ... Will reveal all (prepare for anti-climax) when I get to my home comp, with the original photo _________________ |

Re: BEN NEVIS
Very nice work Paul, before you reveal all though here's my stab at 'what happenend before.......' someone or something was holding your mate up or the rockspile was higher and he was lying on it holding the pole. Clues, look for the clone tool repeats on the rocks under his legs. Not picking fault, just giving Kevin a hint. _________________ most of the lack of sunshine in our lives is caused by us standing in our own shadow |

Re: BEN NEVIS
Yeah, those repeating patterns are really annoying me now - a few more seconds care would have fixed that ! _________________ |

Re: BEN NEVIS
Very clever Paul – still think your mates a bit short though! |

Re: BEN NEVIS
Well, of all the possible solutions this one never occurred to me! I think the final montage shows more skill than I originally thought - a really great job. Did you have the montage in mind when you took the picture? |

Re: BEN NEVIS
Cheers Steve- no, we were just fooling around. Of course, the way do this perfectly (without those annoying telltale repeating patterns) would be to take 2 identically positioned shots, the 2nd with no people - making the removal a simple case of erasing to the underlying layer. Why does this insight only come in hindsight ? ! _________________ |
