There are two main tricks to colouring b&w photos. The first is not to use colours which stand out and look too artificial: the pink jacket in the middle, for instance, and the red car are a little too strong. Best to paint these colours on a new layer set to Color mode, and then you can desaturate as required. The second trick: don't forget to colour in the skin! |

Steve I have desaturated the pink & blue tops, i have also done the same with the car. The skin tone i sampled from a pic of my son. ![]() |

Excellent! In cases such as this, I generally change the sky for a real one to pep it up a little. And perhaps that grass could do with watering... Great job, Dave - a good result. |
