House Warming Gift?
Hi everyone!

Below is a house warming gift for a family at my church. I've got another week before I get it printed on photo paper and framed for them. My objective was to make it look like hand drawn artwork, but of course, 100% Photochopping. Comments and critizisms welcome.

Chris

Just one: criticism is spelled with a C, not a Z!

I guess if that's the only criticism...I've done well on the work

Terrific artwork, I like it.

As somebody who doesn't always get perspective correct, I hesitate to be a bit picky but...it appeared to me that what we in the US call the gutter at the edge of the roof was slightly off horizontal. I went through the various PS steps and it came up requiring a small (1 degree?) clockwise rotation. One of those things that a picky dentist would be apt to zero in on.

Horizontals can be deceptive, unless it's the horizon. When viewed from an angle, they might appear off centre. To gauge if an image is straight, look at the verticals first.

Wow! Very nice Michael!

I tried to change the perspective per your suggestion Mguyer, but after the change for some reason...(well, to my eye), it kind of threw the house off. I'm sure it's something I did, though.

Below has some other enhancements. I think I'm comming up to the final product, but I still have plenty of time to monkey around.

Well...looking at it now, I may have gone a little overboard on the deep yellow Photofilter.

Re: House Warming Gift?
For a graphic like this, what would be the best medium to use for print? Photo paper maybe?

It's going to be framed for them to put on the wall.

Thanks in advance!

Very nice. If it was me, I would print on a matt photo paper and window-mount it with a nice coloured matte board. Maybe choose a colour from the print, eg the stone of the house.

I played with the perspective again, and I think I've got it lined up pretty well...

Thanks Wayne, I'm heading to the print shop to get a price quote. Great idea on the window-mount to match the stone.

I replaced the sky, making it bigger so that I could remove some of the foreground. Then I used the rough pastels filter to give the hand drawn look.

Great idea! I was contemplating ways to knock out the foreground as it didn't seem to do much justice to the subject. I'll definately increase the size of the sky on the final piece and repost.
