Re: Sunflowers
Now how does one create such rich lightning. Is there a good plugin, 'cause the tutorials on the web seem lacking...

Re: Sunflowers
You could try Alien Skin Xenofex 2. That gives fairly acceptable lightning

Re: Sunflowers
The background comes from a photo!

OK, here's an interesting situation in which I find myself:

I have already three of the Alien Skin's plug ins; however, when I was trying out the trial version of Xenofex2, I discovered four things:

1. I only wanted the lightning feature.

2. That this lightning actually had only one "optimized" prototype bolt; certainly, you could reduce the number and change the angle of branches ( which would always appear at the same places on the bolt), but at the expense of making the bolts less realistic.

3. I created this "optimized" prototypical lightning bolt on a transparent background, and saved as a psd file. Next I made a two copies of the bolt and made some interesting combinations (using the Free Transform Tool) that the original program failed to do.

4. Finally, I played around with Levels, Contrast, and the Fill Selection with colour to get the white incandescent glow of the lightning.

All this from one psd file which--of course--is for my own private use.

Re: Sunflowers
Dave it's straight forward really...

Anyway, I can pre-anticipate Steve say that the bolt of lightning should be thicher/bigger/wider, so here is a bigger lightning bolt:

Re: Sunflowers
Okay y'all have a good laugh now... I've owned Eye Candy 4000, Splat and Xenofex. Just never got around to installing the Xenofex stuff. Geeeez.

BTW Michael, I think that lightning bolt is a bit too thick and overwhelming.

And now Alienskin split the candy off into 3 separate products forcing me to consider if I should upgrade the 4000 to ver 5.
