The Other Side Of No Tomorrow
Hi Everyone Here's an image I had an idea to do for months and finally got around to it. This is going to be entered into an art show coming the beginning of Sept. at a local art gallery. Let me know what you think. The photo of the Ninja Warrior was taken by a friend MJ Ranum. The rest is all me in PhotoShop. ![]() SnowDog |

Really nice work. To give it a little more realisme I would suggest the following: - Add some shading on the play card to give it more 3D (maybe curl it slightly?); it is a bit flat looking and getting hit by a bullet most shake you a bit. ![]() - Maybe add a thickness to the card as well? I know we see the card from front face but for more 3D again... -And finally, add some of the "dust" or card shrapnel all along the cut. I think in real life (|) you would have blast dust all along ( when you see slow-mo of bullets in wood planks, the plank explodes at the entry point). These are detials, but I think details are what makes montages realistic looking I reallylike the composition of it and the monochromatic work. ![]() _________________ |

Really nice! Along with your statements; Pierre, maybe even a very subtle burn or sear effect along the edges of the cut on the card. |

As I counter-posted this on another forum SD posted his to, it only seems fair to do the same here! I think SD's choice of image is superb. ![]() _________________ If you hold on to the past, sooner or later you'll lose your grip. |

Re: The Other Side Of No Tomorrow
Glad you all like this image. Pierre I went and studied some real life images that capture a bullet ripping thru the card and some of the things you say are true about the card " dust " being shown all along the cut. So on my remake of this image I will take that into consideration. At the same time I don't won't to take too much away from the great image of the Ninja that Marcus let me use. I am surprised you didn't catch or say anything about the bullet still having its shell on? Don't worry I don't know enough about guns to know that either lol. tank172 the photos I looked never show any searing or burn mark but thanks for taking the time to comment. David thats still a great image allthough the card would be frozen in time ( doesn't matter about the speed of it ) when the high speed flash went off, so you gotta get rid of that blur or get a better camera lol. I am gonna do this image all over again even bigger. MJ sent me a higher res version of the ninja lady. thanks again everyone SnowDog |

Hehe! OK, you win! I'll have to do the whole thing over again, though. It was a hastily put together image I did at work; rubbish PC, lousy monitor and no access to decent stock! I'm looking forward to seeing your revised image! _________________ Leap and the net will appear |
