What's your mag?
I'm looking to subscribe to a Photoshop oriented magazine, but also covers other design software such as Illustrator, Quark, and some 3d software...such as Vue & Poser. Am I searching for the impossible...?

Also, what magazines do you subscribe too, and what's best? I'd like something more on the artistic/Creative side, with more advanced tutorials. Rather than a magazine focusing on the basics.

My primary programs are, of course, Photoshop and Illustrator.

Thanks for any advice!

Chris

Hi Chris,

You might try Computer Arts. It's not a cheap mag if you buy it singly but it covers a few software programmes with the lead being taken by Photoshop/Illustrator.

'Photoshop Creative' and 'Advanced Photoshop' deal mainly with, strangely enough, Photoshop.

'3D World' for your 3D fix.

Thanks, Gordon

Photoshop Creative & Advanced Photoshop were the only two magazines available at the bookstore in The Mall of Georgia. You would think, being the largest mall in the Southeastern US would have all the magazines you pointed out... There was a wall running the length of the bookstore stocked full of magazines from around the world.

Also, pricy isn't the term I'd use to describe the cost of these magazines...

I'll end up subscribing to a couple of these, after Christmas though.

The mag I have subscribed to for a few years now is Digital Photo (www.dpmag.co.uk). It is photoshop orientated and each month includes a CD with movie tutorials. Until I found Steve's book and this forum the mag was my principal source of knowledge. They have overseas subscription. Very well worth a look.

Digital Photo: I agree with Ted, although I don't subscribe, I just dip into it now and again. The free CDs are great. Be aware, however, that it does focus mainly on using Photoshop for digital photography techniques rather than montaging.
