DH 60 Gipsy Moth
Spent this afternoon shooting a friend's rebuilt DH 60 Gipsy Moth out of Lee-on-Solent in Hampshire. This was its second flight after a rebuild lasting 8 1/2 years. The shot was taken over the southern end of Southampton Water. ![]() Larger shot:- http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s93/GKBphoto/GAAJTGKB7081.jpg _________________ You do not need a parachute to skydive. Great images Gordon and balance. I think I can almost hear the chug-chug, harmony of their engines. |

Amazing shot. Personally, I'd recommend cutting away those wires on your own plane so you get a clearer view. |

Re: DH 60 Gipsy Moth
Thanks Steve. The wires, wing and strut were used deliberately to frame the subject in order to give a period 1920s feel to the shot. If you cut away the wires the aircraft loses all structural integrity and the wings fall off. That would mean removal of the entire wing structure from the shot thus losing the framing that was sought in the first place. But think of the great shots you'd get while plummeting! |

But then I wouldn't have time to adjust them in Photoshop ![]() _________________ My neighbour knocked on my door at 2:30am this morning, can you believe that 2:30am?! Luckily for him I was still up playing my Bagpipes. |
