Sky Render
Hi all, I've been playing with photoshop to try and get a nice cloud effect, since the render clouds isn't the best. This is what I came up with with the render clouds filter and a few tweeks. What do you think? ![]() Simon ![]() |

Re: Sky Render
You're right, the Clouds filter isn’t great for creating clouds. It's not bad for basic texture, but if you're going to use this approach then you really have to paint the shadows in manually - at the bottom, not the top! |

Re: Sky Render
Hi Simon, There is a way using Different clouds to make something that looks like a (thin) cloud: 1. New empty Layer on (blue) Background 2. Hit Q and draw a cloud with a hard brush (20-40) 3. Leave Quick mask mode and feather selection (10) 4. Fill with a color 5. Filter Different clouds 6. Few times more (Ctrl»F) 7. Filter Stylize»Emboss 90/50/100 8. Inverse selection and delete 9. Blending » Screen Maybe copy this Layer Can also be applied on the whole sky (Overlay and 50% Opacity) Try Levels afterwards ![]() |
