ERE! WHAT'S WRONG WITH MY ROBIN!!!
This picture is to be made into a Christmas card, but I have had comments that the Robin is huge; I can't understand why people can't see it's in the foreground on a twig/branch. ![]() ![]() |

I get it.......but , maybe if you create more depth of field - blur the background a bit... OR... make the bird more brilliant??? If I squint, all but the beautiful orange chest blends into the b.round. Great picture, by the way! _________________ "Imagination, not invention, is the supreme master of art........" I agree with Joey - depth of field would make a big difference. Also, there's the issue that you have small snowflakes falling in front of the robin; hide them, and it might bring it more into the foreground. I think the main issue though is that the twig it's standing on is, visually, the same size as the tree branches behind. There's not enough information to suggest that the robin is in the foreground, other than its scale. |

Kudos Michael, you are amazingly organised for thinking about Christmas cards this far in advance. _________________ "Why so serious?" |

Big Vern I'm not really organized, it's just that it was a good load of snow that day, and then I was tempted to make something of the pics I took because I know the residents will buy them (courtesy of Worcester cathedral). ![]() Thanks Joey for the advice, and that coupled to your advice Steve (making branch bigger, and snow flakes bigger ) might solve the problem--I'll show the results later. ![]() |

Also maybe move the robin up if possible - the twig it is perching on doesn't look as if it is at a natural height - that would also incidentally solve the problem of the bird's chest merging with the brick _________________ I'm not really bad - I just draw that way |
