Re: Cold Mountain Winter Distant Runner Snow and Frozen Tarn
Bad timing apart from love for running .... I'm very sorry, I just love running with others, but I did not know Boston bombs were going to kill and maim people. (big tears). I can say something aggressive, but I won't apart from to people I know. I had enough with the IRA....(very close random to kill me and my family, but some focus harm me in Ireland ....).............. and Shinning Path (very close random to kill me, and focused us.... ) |

I hope you don't mind. I deleted first, but will now repost with respect and affirmation for those that died and seriously injured. Once a runner always a runner. ![]() |

Is this a straight photograph or did you revised this picture? Looks like a painting to me. |

This a total painting from memory. I only referenced the runner image so I can get anatomy right. I've done live life drawing/painting. Anyone will know when you get it wrong. I see nothing wrong with a photo as reference, but not to be a slave of it, which can be a danger and drive you crazy. BTW, I love your train. I don't understand Paul's problems. Mine is a watercolour painting. I had to push, practice and learnt I hope. Once you have some technique, which I associated with PS skills, everything can go very fast. It has to with watercolours ![]() Painting: I love classical glazes and have made the images with Acrylic. It goes on forever, and starts to make you feel sick, not the fumes just the effort, but worse than watercolour or oil colour, you are trapped. No return with the technique I was using. I think my idea with Acrylic was maybe unique and stupid, but I don't call myself stupid often. Hair-dryer glaze and more glazes and hair-dryer. I guess I was following Caravaggio et al 1600's. There is something that can come through with this hard work. All the glazes give depth a sort of 3D image. You cant print them. You have to paint them, at least with the current technology I know. Go and have look at a Caravaggio painting near you. They are all a bit Christian, but the church in Italy were the $$$ sponsors. I think he would have liked our freedom...... but do we have it ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caravaggio |

I really like this Trevor, you have talent. I like the simplicity and subtle lighting, very nice. _________________ "If we don't succeed, we run the risk of failure" |

Thanks very much Artwel. Its very difficult to stop art. I love doing via PS, but other media too. Try sculpture, my dad very good at that, I see my hands moving like him, weird, weird more because I remember things I did not know what I was thinking, straight to the brain (he is dead now). and Steve has hidden talent! And my camera is art....... a point of reference, or history..... Trevor |
