Infra Red
I've been shooting some more infra red images recently and thought I would post this one. It is of a gateway at Nymans Gardens in Sussex with Wisteria hanging over the entrance.

I have sent my Canon G12 to be converted for colour infra red work and it should be with me a couple of weeks from now. I'll post some results when I get them.

Re: Infra Red
Extraordinary. Did you have any idea how it would come out before you took the photograph?

Re: Infra Red
I had a fair idea how it would look. I was actually leaving the gardens after shooting some other scenes and saw this shot purely by chance. The trick is to 'see' in black and white and also to envisage how the foliage will turn out. Fortunately the lighting was in the ideal position which helps enormously.

I judged the exposure by using the histogram on the camera and erred towards very slight overexposure. and then brought it back using Levels. I had to correct the Levels and straighten up the verticals in Photoshop.

Re: Infra Red
Very impressive -- it's been a long time since I did infa red and I know it can produce some amazing and oftentimes unpredictable results. You nailed this one.

Thanks all. If we get some decent weather I plan to shoot a lot more like this ... if we get some decent weather!

Re: Infra Red
Thanks Anna. I'm off to a place called Mottisfont Abbey on Thursday to meet friends for lunch. I'm hoping to try out the Canon G12 there.
