Previous Work - Los Gatos Christmas Parade
In September of 2012 I was hired by Los Gatos-Saratoga Community Education and Recreation (LGS Recreation) hired me to manage their database for that year's Los Gatos Christmas Parade. My manager quickly found that I had a lot more talents than mere database management and found a way to keep me on and additional year.

The following images are from the top banner images for Constant Contact mass-marketing emails. The banner, along with a shorter link section at the bottom not part of the image, would appear in the preview when someone looked at their email.

In 2012 LGS Recreation had someone that was responsible for their marketing and she created the top banner which she used for all of the Parade email announcements. It had a dismally low 30% click-rate. My theory is because it was rather cryptic.

She left the organization the spring of 2013 so when Parade time rolled around, I was put in charge of developing the emails. I created the rest of the series because I felt each announcement should reflect the contents and click-rate on my emails were all in the 80th percentile. While I had not started running through the tutorials, I did use a technique or two from HotChiPs on some of the images.

Very interesting series. But... Comic Sans! Don't use it!

I had to change it to Comic Sans because that was what my boss wanted. Believe me, if I could have used another font, I would have.
