Serenity now...
Coincidentally I was fooling with pictures within a picture and this weeks 'cooling off' challenge seemed to fit... ![]() ![]() |

Re: Serenity now...
The fun thing is that this is an idea where you can repeat the picture in picture infinitely ....... When I was a child I had book that had on it's cover a picture of the book that had on its cover a picture of the book that had on its cover ............. and so forth. I never tired of looking at it. i could imagine myself, like Alice, disappearing into it cover by cover ....... But I'm damned if I am going to try it animated in Photoshop. I'll leave that to the movie software's ........ ![]() ![]() _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Re: Serenity now...
Thanks Anna... your "dream within a dream" comment reminded me of being given ether as an anesthetic many years ago. I still remember the spinning hallucinations. ![]() |

Loyd the first video is fantastic, and I downloaded it to find a 75-frame gif. How did you create that effect please? ![]() |

Re: Serenity now...
It's all in the software Michael... It's no secret, as I've mentioned before, it was basically made with DP Animation Maker here and my standby gif animation editor. One needs the ability to crop and modify the finished DPAM animation to complete the more complex effects. ![]() I used two images for this animation, the tropical beach and the hand with tablet. Animated the base image with DPAM, then cropped the image for the tablet in my gif editor. Put the cropped image into the hand and tablet and then copied and pasted it back into the original base ani... and that's it... finis. I only use the trial version of DPAM, download it and give it a try. Their website has a number of sample projects that you can save and learn the basics of the software. Sorry, I am a very poor teacher, but if you have additional questions I would be glad to try and answer them. Cheers! |

My golf match was cancelled this morning at the last minute... totally bored, so I messed around and came up with this partially serene effort: ![]() |

Re: Serenity now...
Thanks Steve. Too bad about no Mac version, I think you would have enjoyed using all the controls, sliders and such. ![]() I used one frame of your superb Christmas banner for 2017 in the screenshot showing a few of the controls of Animation Maker. I've studied your banner and simply cannot achieve the smoothness and wonderful timing. 500 frames even... amazing! ![]() |

Re: Serenity now...
Have you never tried a virtual Windows Steve? I do it under VMWare Fusion quite successfully. If you you do it using boot camp then it's a pain to change systems but it will run even quicker. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Seen here on board Intergalactic Shuttle #322 as it arrives in New London, and not pleased with being responsible for it's delivery to the New London Antiquities Museum.
