Outrageous Gas Prices
Is it me or are these gas prices getting ridiculous? Maybe it's just the US. I may have to move abroad. raymardo ![]() _________________ Sometimes you have to stand in your neighbor's backyard to get a good view of your own. raymardo |

Re: Outrageous Gas Prices
Hahaha excellent satire, Raymardo But I think you'll find that British petrol prices are astronomic compared with US prices. |

Re: Outrageous Gas Prices
Nice montage, type fits the sign well. But don't you think it would look better if the sign had been photographed from a slight angle? It may be just a joke, but it's still an image - sticking the subject right in the middle like that doesn't bring any additional dynamism to the picture. Damn, I really must write that book about perspective and composition... ![]() |

Re: Outrageous Gas Prices
Wow, Steve that really has brought the image to life. I always admired Bill Brandt's style of portrait photograhy he would nearly always offset his subject unless breaking the rule meant a better picture, proving that there is always an exception that proves the rule. http://www.npg.org.uk/live/brandt.asp I need to get back to studying photography, particularly the rule of thirds, composition, and perspective and look forward to anything that you may include in your book. |

Haha! That's great. As Ray says, there should really be some more on composition in the next edition, it is a complex subject but I'm sure it could be summarised enough to have a place. It's good to see you getting your own back after all our previous depictions of you! ![]() _________________ It must be Thursday, I never could get the hang of Thursdays |

There, my true identity has been revealed. I would have got away with it if it weren't for those pesky kids. _________________ It must be Thursday, I never could get the hang of Thursdays |

Another victory for Scooby Doo and the gang, ending (as always) with another ghostly apparition being unmasked! ...of course, your mugshot has now replaced all previous instances of the avatar, so future visitors won't have a clue what's going on... |

Too late - I've already grabbed your real image. Watch out for it - you never know where it might crop up. Becky, sent you a message - you'll need to log out and in again before you'll be notified of it. |

Re: Outrageous Gas Prices
A woman ran up to me in the street and said "Your Grandfather's name was Albert and he passed away sometime ago." I said "Yes that's amazing." She said "He spoke to me from the grave , and wanted you to know everything was going to be fine." "Oh I'm so happy for you." She said I then slapped her across the face to which she exclaimed "What on Earth was that all about!" Me: "Oh I'm sorry but my Grandfather always taught me to strike an happy medium." Sorry for the pun I will go now ![]() I've logged out a couple of times - nothing is coming through, Steve. |

Re: Outrageous Gas Prices
Steve, I hope in your next edition you write about composition and perspective, theses things elude me. I can't design an interior that looks real and my outdoor scenes defy the laws of gravity, objects float off into the sky, people look like they're about to tumble. I truly liked Raymardo's image, but your quick redesign is phenomenal. I want to learn how to make a better pictures. Also, I like your QuickTime movies, I read a lot, but I read slowly and painfully, one word at a time, like a child. The movies help me understand your methods better than just reading about them, and I like the sound of your voice. |

So all that effort is worth it then! Thanks for your comments, Neal. The movies take ages to do, so it's gratifying that they work! |

Re: Outrageous Gas Prices
Guess your right, Steve. I could have put a little more thought into that montage. It was pretty simple to do what I did. I guess that in my attempt to incorporate the humor, I slacked in the visually creative aspect. But, then again, if I didn't you wouldn't have had the opportunity to create that stunning image of me as a gas station attendant. I apologize also. I hear that the company that hosts your web site is going to charge you extra fees this month because so many people are coming to the site to view and download the montage you created of me. Once again, I apologize. (LOL) raymardo _________________ Sometimes you have to stand in your neighbor's backyard to get a good view of your own. raymardo |
