Check out my panoramic pictures.
Hey guys, I had revision two of the book for about two months now and love it. I been lurking around here for about the same amount of time and think you guys should checkout my panoramic pictures. Most were taken with my old Canon A80, the newer ones were taken with my Canon Powerhsot G6, and I can't wait for my Digital Rebel XT to get in next week so that I can start taking panos with that.

Here is the address. http://www.mattmorrison.com/panos/

Excellent! All done using Photoshop's panorama feature? They're seamless, great work!

No, I have photoshop CS2 and it in no way compares to the quailty one can achieve with Panorama tools. Unfortunately panorama tools is very hard to write scripts for so I use a front end called PTAssembler which can be found at http://www.tawbaware.com. Also, to take most of the panos I used a tripod with a special panoramic head attached that aligns the rotation of the camera on its nodal point. This allows for much greater accuracy and fewer seems, althought there are some panos that I have shot that I haven't released becuase there are awful seems. Anyway... I am glad you liked them and I can't wait for the new book to arrive at my local Barne's and Nobel. I promise I'll get it on the first day of release.

Great pan shots. I have played once or twice with Canon's Photostitch. Only problem is you can't adjust lens distortion.
Here is a shot of the new home we are building. You can see the distortion at the top of the walls. Not bad considering both shots were hand held.

Rainchill and MJ, are you saying those wonderful pictures are several pictures stitched together? How is this done?

Yes, that is exactly what we are saying. There are several different shoftware packages that will do it including photoshop, but I believe that PTAssembler is the best. I linked it above, and check out the authors gallery at http://www.tawbaware.com/maxlyons/

I installed pta assembler a month or 2 ago on my computer, but I really do not understand the whole lens distortion stuff.
