Nice texture Cniht although the texture looks a little flat you could try Distort>Spherize... with an oval selection roughly describing the man's face or try Distort/Displace... based on a mapped image of the man's face. But still a great looking image. _________________ mad as a badger and twice as furry |

Re: My first pic...
thanks a lot..I haven't got to displacement maps yet, though ..spherize does improve it, and scales look nice on the right cheek (viewers point of view) but the other side, the lighter one..it still loks like a toattoo rather than real scales..don't know how to remedy that |

Re: My first pic...
here's a quick example of one of my inspectors at work. I used the freehand lasso to select various parts of his face that represented high features like his nose, cheekbones, forehead etc. and applied a postive value to the Spherize filter which enlarged the scales in those areas. I then selected the low areas like around his eyes, mouth, chin etc. and applied a negative value Sperize filter to shrink the scales, then when I was happy with the way the scales fitted the face I then selected all of the scales texture layer and made a copy of it (Ctrl+C) I then went into the Channels tabs and created a new Alpha layer in which I pasted in the copied texture. Then returning to the Layers section I ensured that the texture layer was selected and then applied a Filter/Render/Lighting Effects... and where it says "Texture Channel" I selected the newly created Alpha channel which then gives the resulting Lighting Effect a 3D textured effect. I hope this helps. _________________ mad as a badger and twice as furry |

Both pics look great. I think the tongue would look better bifurcated. |

Re: My first pic...
here's another attempt with the texture layer inverted and equalized. _________________ mad as a badger and twice as furry |
