Praise! Reeaaa-ly nice one M(e)guyer! I like the out of focus effect and the vivid contrast of the "coquelicot" (don't know the name of the red one in english, sorry). Is it a montage? It really looks like a picture taken with a camera... ![]() _________________ |

Re: Spring has arrived
thanks. Background is a flowering pear tree and the tulip was added. I duplicated the background, gaussian blurred it, added a mask and painted on the mask with black to sharpen up the background right around the flower. |

I like the contrast as well, and the way you enhance depth of field. Love the vivid color of the tulip... did you enhance that at all, or is that straight beauty? The strange thing about living in SoCal, it's colorful year round. _________________ Drawing attention to what otherwise might be overlooked... emphasizing things that matter. |

Re: Spring has arrived
I like the overall effect but the tuplip looks "blown out". The petals at the back are pure red, there is no detail in them at all. Did you have to cover up something on the tulip? |

Re: Spring has arrived
actually the tulip is "straight out of the camera"...lack of detail in the back petals could be a depth of field thing. |

That is really lovely Marty. That, too, is worthy of a large print on a wall. Ted |

Re: Spring has arrived
Nikon Coolpix 5700 set for macro. I knocked out the busy background, filled a new layer with a color (colour) sampled from the flower for the background and added a drop shadow. Thanks for the feedback guys (mates). |
