An interesting creative image Joey. I like the painterly style. Well executed in my mind.

Really like it, I love the painterly effect, reminds me of manga/anime type image. I thought at first you'd painted it and took a photo of it.

I did one similar a while back of an American singer as a manga character for a contest on another photo shop website. I've attached it below, hope you like my attempt and don't mind me posting. I was never 100% hapy with the eyes really

Simon, I love it! I agree there's something about the eyes - and I hope you don't mind this post; it's my solution........I just made the iris rounder.

You've certainly altered the actress - I don't recognize her at all!

Yeah don't mind at all, I think looking at it, that the highlights on the eyes may be the problem, they seem to prominent and I think slightly to round, since I'm assuming the eyeball is elongated maybe they would be to? They do look a bit better rounded, I was going for a mangaesque look on the eyes so made the iris elongated but maybe that's the problem as well. What works as a drawing in a comic book does not always translate well in the real world.

And don't worry about not recognising the person, it's some American singer call Demi Lovato (had never heard of her until I did this pic).

I am pleased to say though this got me 1st prize in the contest.

Simon, congratulations on winning your contest. You must have been very pleased. A great image, I agree that the highlights look a little too round though.

Joey, I didn't realise your image were photo manipulations, I thought they had been painted!

Simon, congratulations!

Deborah - I haven't been able to hold a paint brush or open a tube of paint for some time (they've been replaced with a mouse, for which I'm extremely grateful).........however, oils was my medium of choice and I do like a painterly effect. Maybe I'll post a "real" painting......???
