Wishing You All a Happy New Year

David -Firstly I never saw the first attempt so : My Interpretation - A loving couple (symbolized by the clutching hands behind the back) pushing aside the rainy and isolated Covid past to peer or step into a brighter optimistic future where freedom once again prevails. (symbolized by the groups of people ahead) - Rim lighting good - not so sure on the letter colouring (hue or Saturation level) |

Spot on Frank. The couple is Ingrid and I. So yes it's a loving couple! 
I took the photo of us backlit with a very low clear morning sun (aided just a smidgeon in PS). Ingrid and I looked at all sorts of colours because we weren't quite entirely happy either. Colours than't weren't to some degree image derived just seemed to scream out. The problem with saturation reduction was that the lettering behind the rain (upper line especially) started to get very muddy. I tried changing saturation along the rain edge but it quickly got too evident. So best compromise.
