Nice Tom. I’ve never tried this kind of illustration as I am quite useless in this field but would love to be good at it.

Thanks so much! Steve's books really help a lot with most of the techniques used here. Try "100% Photoshop" if you haven't already!

Re: Elysian Glades
I think most of us here have tried Steve's excellent book. It taught me a lot, but I certainly wouldn't want to attempt to put it to such good use.

I am assuming this is 100% hand work with no photographic elements of any kind. I couldn't get close to this level without a totally unrealistic investment of time and labour ...... and I consider myself a competent and experienced user.

I have successfully done images with only hand tools and basic filters ....... but much simpler than this. I can only echo Gordon's (GKB's) sentiments "I would love to be good at it".

Excellent work TOM. I have to echo Gordon's remark.

Right on, thank you, David! This was a rather long-term effort that played out over about four months, in the times between everything else. This one was more like painting than anything I've done before; I hardly used any shape tools, it was all brushes.

I found, and made, a few different brushes for this, paying more attention to variations among grass, leaves, and the like. Water reflections were "fiddly," since flipping copies vertically works best along straight horizontal lines, and these weren't that!

And, there are no photo elements, and yes, you are, of course, an amazing user and artist!

Thank you very much, Frank. And, a shout out to Gordon, who I'm sure went through "100% Photoshop" years ago!

This is fantastic work, Tom. There's a misty quality to the water and a subtle sense of sunlight in the distance. And an astonishing variety of foliage!

I'm glad to have been able to show you the tools, but your expertise in this area is far beyond anything I could have created.

Outstanding.

Thank you kindly, Steve—that means so much coming from the master!
