Contest 2: Put the fish in the glass
On the face of it, a simple challenge this week: make the fish swim in the glass. Should be easily done, using the techniques in the book - 1e page 124, 2e pages 162 and 166. Trouble is, the glass is stuck on the background - it's not a montage. So how are you going to bring the shine on the glass to the front without the background appearing in front of the fish? It's a tricky one, this. You've got until Monday on your own; after that, I'll post some hints. You'll find high res versions of the fish here, and the glass here.  |

Nice work Ryan! The weeds are a nice additional touch. I've been chomping at the bit, I can't have a go until I get home

Nice one Ryan, I like the grass in the bottom, and you have the colour of the water just right. I also like the background in black and white. Here's my meagre attempt, a blatant copy of p158, but hey its a cool effect. PS my fish is grumpy! Its supposed to be fizzy apple, but I might just go for lemonade!

Thanks for the feedback guys  All the techniques I used for this challenge are fresh in mind from a recent project.

Ok first attempt... Caught last weeks comp at the tail end so thought I had to try this week 
This is way too much fun, esp at 5.30am!

Thanks Russ. Russ why don't you have yours animated, you could have the wee little fish turning from side to side and the ice cubes bobbing up and down. Just a thought if you have time to play with the image. Been meaning to ask how do you get your post count up and av. I am a registered member, but for some reason it doesn't want to sign me in under uk2usadaz. |

Daz, Try doing the following: Tools>Internet Options>Privacy>Advanced Adding *.plin.mailbox.co.uk to the trusted sites allows you to log in, it's because the browser sees it as a 3rd party cookie and blocks it. Wow! I turn on my Mac after the weekend and there are so many great entries! Great to see some new faces here too - all welcome, whether or not you bought the book... Thanks again for the login info, Trinity. Does that simple step work OK in Windows? If so, I'll stick it on the front page. |
