Contest 33: Cage the wild beast
Perspective cropped up twice in last week's contest, and as it happens I'm in the middle of writing the Perspective chapter for the third edition. So here's a little test that may get the juices flowing. There's a savage, wild feline here, and a small section of steel bar here. Can you use the bar to make a cage for the cat? The cat has a clipping path, but you'll have to fluff up the fur yourselves.

The most fearsome, cruel, bad tempered feline you'll ever set eyes on!

Thanks Chris - having completed this, I still stand by my views that perspective is a b*tch!

I am looking forward to the new chapters in the book!!

Isn't someone currently writing a book with a chapter devoted to perspective? Cannot remember the name of it

Re: Contest 33: Cage the wild beast
The speed at which you 'all' seem to be able to put these together is a touch disconcerting to those of us who have so far been unable to complete ANYTHING presentable within a mere seven day week.....<sigh> ( I am still grappling with the four wheeler in the field)
I am not even going to try this one - I took one look at David's bars and knew my limits. However, I am inspired to go and read about making bars from little itty bitty bits of picture, and of course, perspective.

Eventer, don't be put off by other people's images, what matters is what you can produce. You're not going to be chastised if your image isn't nominated for the Turner prize - the Friday Challenge is not a contest, it's a way of getting practice in, using methods of your own and from the books.

For reference, look at pages 194-195 in the second edition, that''l give you a little insight into creating the bars.

That really is a great image David, you seem to have made that cat even scarier than the original and speaking as a cat lover I am SCARED!
Wont get a chance to try this challenge out as I am still living out of boxes and disabled by dial-up until next week! (Ok that may be just a little of a Drama Queen reaction but how slow can the net be???)
Looking forward to how the rest of you guys tackle the problem though

This is one scary looking kitty - are his eyes really looking in two different directions?

I'm just getting over the flu - missed the Ferrari challenge and may not be able to do much with the scary kitty, but I'm really looking forward to the perspective chapter in the new edition!

Tough, eh? Thought you'd find this a challenge. So far, we've got a one-point perspective from David, and an isometric from maiden. Anyone fancy a crack at a two point perspective? Or even three?

Not that you can tell who's writing the perspective tutorials at the moment!

I'm sure the majority of the members will join me in a resounding 'huh?'

Maiden, that jungle theme is so cool. Love the bamboo stuff and especially kitty's headband

Re: Contest 33: Cage the wild beast
Go on then, a crack at three point perspective - cats in cages? call the RSPPCIC (royal society for prevention of photoshopping cats in cages)
