Contest 114: Rebuild the WTC
It was the fifth anniversary of 9/11 recently, and we've all seen the plans for the new buildings to be placed on the site. Seems to me, though, that Daniel Libeskind's original plans were rather more exciting. So it's over to you. What would you like to see built in this space? High res is here. |

Hey Steve... Have you ever considered making a higher res, high res available? |

Re: Contest 114: Rebuild the WTC
Yes, I have - but I'm thinking about how the final images will display in the forums. Any taller than this, and they won't fit on everyone's screen. I think it's easier for me to restrict the size at the point of entry, rather than expecting everyone to shrink their pictures when they've finished. In the current instance, this is the best picture of Ground Zero I could google! The sky is my own, of course. |

Re: Contest 114: Rebuild the WTC
Steve, I was thinking exactly the same as Tom when his posting came up. Working with such a small file size made it difficult to distort the platform around the top of my image and get the perspective sorted out - well that's my excuse anyway. Gordon |

Anything built on Ground Zero, would have to be a fitting tribute to the big apple, man. _________________ Corners are just bent straight bits. |

Might they keep away any more evil spirits the old Native American way? |

I just noticed that we can edit a post!! I'll just remove my incomplete pic. Sorry to be so slow to see everything on the screen, I guess it comes with age, or maybe I've always had tunnel vision. |

Added the guardrail in the foreground (my first post did not have enough depth without it) |

Re: Contest 114: Rebuild the WTC
Most of the comments that I have been hearing around here, is that people would really like to see this area converted into a memorial area instead of adding another high rise building Perhaps a nice tidal pool on the way into the memorial would be interesting? By the way, I really like the Totem Pole Ben, although that might fit in better in Oklahoma |

Not the most practical memorial admittedly but its heart is in the right place - I wish my technical abilities matched my aspirations. _________________ I'm not really bad - I just draw that way |

Still at least I've sorted out the pixellation problem - it helps if you download the high res via the link rather than clicking on the low res picture Durrrrrrrrrrrrr! _________________ I'm not really bad - I just draw that way |

My daughter was working in London on 9/11 and I'm sure it was very much part of her finally moving back downunder. She happend to be in N.Y. last week. Her hotel room looking right over Ground Zero. It was harrowing, but the cermonies were very touching. |

It's not what I really think would be built there, because it's just impossible. But don't you think that a view like this in our nowadays big cities would be fantastic? PS: I know there's a mistake with the scale, but i wanted to post it before the week starts (fu**ing monday) |

I understand Redwoods get pretty big, should fit in with the high rise environs. |
