Contest 216: Water tower makeover
I spotted this water tower when I was in France in the summer. A lot of these things - in England, at least - are being converted into homes these days. Although this isn't a particularly pretty example of the genre, I'm sure it could make an excellent dwelling with the right sort of care and attention. Anyone fancy a spot of architectural remodelling? High res is here. ![]() |

Re: Contest 216: Water tower makeover
The French just used it for a water tower, but when it was sold to Australia they had grander ideas for its use. I used a photo I took of a lighthouse just off the Great Ocean Road in Victoria as the source image. Unfortunately I do not remember the name of the lighthouse ![]() EDIT: Google maps is a wonderful tool. It's called Split Point Lighthouse for anyone interested. ![]() |

Re: Contest 216: Water tower makeover
I don't think I've seen them turned into homes here in the US yet, but I have seen them used for storage buildings and fire houses. One of the problems that we have here is, they tend to be made of metal, and are real attractive to lightning. Ouch!!! |

Some gorgeous entries this week ! Did you do all the imagery Nick or is it a collaged illustration from somewhere else? Edit: I have slightly tweaked mine and will repost _________________ I'm not really bad - I just draw that way |
