Pierre, two minds but with a single thought. Don't find something else, post your image. ça sera tout aussi amusant et tout aussi valable. (It will be just as valid and as much fun). Ted |

Re: Contest 88: Piccadilly Circus
i noticed. But I take that in a good way, as Peter must like what I did to use my post. But if you re-save a JPEG too many times, the quality just starts to disappear (not including Peter's additions). |

Revised the image -- edited out this one to conserve Steve's bandwidth. |

Re: Contest 88: Piccadilly Circus
Even if it is a compliment as such, I would still complain, he should do his own one from scratch, not jsut adding on to it, this is to challenge yourself peter, not challenging i to do it, jsut for you to take it and add your thing on it. If you want to do taht, go to the Photoshop Tennis part of the Pixel Addiction forums _________________ 3TV Visit http://www.3television.co.uk and watch. You will love it! |

Re: Contest 88: Piccadilly Circus
What is this, pick on the new guy? At least 3 of this weeks submissions are ready made night time shots! Check them out against the pic supplied. At least I added something original. OK, I hold my hands up to adding to someone elses work, but at least it was the right pic. My apologies to the person whose image I copied, I did not intend to offend. And if we're going to stamp out cheating, then lets look at all the entries, not just the new ones ok? |

Re: Contest 88: Piccadilly Circus
We're not 'picking' on anyone..new or otherwise... believe me if I had of used another person's pic to do one of my own... they would have said the same thing to me (probably a lot worse too)... and I'm like part of the furniture round here it's just that there is a certain etiquette and mutual respect for each person's entry to the Friday Challenge...as already stated... it's not a challenge between eachother.... merely a challenge to yourself... so.... take up the challenge and show us what you've got . To take and use a picture that someone has maybe spent hours developing, ... kind of undermines their work to a certain degree... as it is... your addition to the pic was quite good and inventive... so it would have been good to see you do the whole pic from scratch and then add your personal touches to it..... also the 'Cheating' you refer to is maybe taken in the wrong context.... Cheating in Photoshop means to be able to do things a little quicker and easier by using shortcuts and different techniques like those Steve has set out in his new book So then, ...if people have merely used a pic that is already a night time shot... generally they have added their own personal touches to it.... at least it shows resourcefulness... even if it is a little cheeky lol DaltonX |

Re: Contest 88: Piccadilly Circus
Nobody is picking on anybody...when I first starting participating in this group, I got a bit hammered for sending in too many entries. Just move on and play nice. |

Well here's my entry. No creative sign changing here and I have a feeling my moon is too big, but I was getting frustrated with the lighting so here it is!! Pierre. I try not to look at the challenges until I have done my own. That way you don't have to worry about seeing your idea already done! _________________ Pauline |

Good idea... but I am too curious... Anyway I am not frustrated. Like Ted said, we have great minds (at lwast that's what I remember from what he said...) I like your Sam_un_, another great idea! Pierre _________________ |

Re: Contest 88: Piccadilly Circus
It's interesting how much variation you can get from essentially the same scene. I don't have a problem seeing what others have done with the challenge before finishing my entry. I usually know right away what I'm going to do. And, it's fun to see what others have come up with! The only problem I would have is having to rethink my entry if someone already submitted one that was too similar to mine. Of course, in a challenge like this one, there is going to be naturally be a lot of similarity. |

Re: Contest 88: Piccadilly Circus
Thanks Pierre. I just don't like being influenced. I'm trying to make my mind work more. I do notice that I struggle more with the 'open ended' challenges and prefer to have a particular assignment. Again, something I'm trying to overcome. For me copying is easy. The challenge is coming up with my own ideas. _________________ Pauline |

Pauline, I hope you forgive me for "borrowing" the moon idea. Little did any of you realize that the original picture was taken on Halloween. |

Re: Contest 88: Piccadilly Circus
Hi, this is just a refinement to my previous submission -- not a new one. I added a light that I had overlooked before and slightly brightened the light from the signs reflecting off the pavement. |

Re: Contest 88: Piccadilly Circus
They were joking around, and they even pointed it out, but mguyer always bends the rules to do his pics, and the others were noting that it was joking. I think, that, if you was going to take someone elses contribution to the challenge, at least ask them for consent to use the image, then thank them in your post. Its just curtious. We are not picking on you, just merely pointing it out. Lex.Out _________________ 3TV Visit http://www.3television.co.uk and watch. You will love it! |

Nicely done BobbyJo, you've even reflected the lights in the rain on the ground. _________________ mad as a badger and twice as furry |

They weren't happy with just having London Bridge in Arizona... They decided to move Picadilly Circus to Nevada! _________________ Now the hardness of this world slowly grinds your dreams away, Makin' a fool's joke out of the promises we make! |
