Our guy will need his super powers when he has to lift one of these babes. |

The costume wouldn't be complete without the clothes pin would it Wayne? _________________ Steve Mac |

(Apart from the fact he appears to have it on upside down) It's permanently attached to his nose by his super powers, and only becomes loose when he's exposed to deadly Kraptonite! |

Re: Contest 158: Superclothing
Okay, fixed the nose-peg: it wasn't upside down, just that the distortion I applied to it had closed the ends up! Also given him a new cloak and over-pants. |

Wayne, I didn't see anything wrong with the first one. I Like how you used the blue highlight in the hair. _________________ Steve Mac |

Some fantastic entries... afraid mine doesn't have a name or a cloak (those darn cloaks are so easy to snag on those sharp cartoon city corners...) |

Re: Contest 158: Superclothing
Thanks for commenting Steve. I just thought the top end of the peg needed opening a little, and the cloak should look 'dragged down' if he was flying upwards, as indicated by the 'whoosh' lines. As for the blue highlights, I can't claim credit, I lifted the whole hair from a Google image, and just distorted it to fit the head. Cheers. |

Great entries, as always. As Steve says, he'll be doing his round-up for this and the next two when he returns from La Belle France. _________________ Leap and the net will appear |

Re: Contest 158: Superclothing
First to take to the skies this week was GKB, with a shiny suit and plenty of additional superheroes in the mix. Some rather odd boots on there, Gordon - but the stylized G on the chest works a treat. Are those trunks more like boxer shorts, do you think? Some great reflections in the second entry! A full action movie from tooquilos sees our green and purple clad hero searching the world for a place to stick the top of the pyramid. A great costume - I particularly like the boots - and good pacing in the animation make this one work particularly well! A somewhat camp cowboy from vibeke, whose superhero looks like he's just stepped out of a Village People video. But it's a great fit for all the clothing, and the cape works wonders! Abby-Helen Artfield has created a stunning constellation effect, tastefully rendered against an astrological background. Superstar, indeed! A rather blurry hero from mguyer, leaping out of the water so fast we can barely see that he's still, well, bare. Watch the perspective on your ripples, though, Marty! A great gag - and some fantastic comicbook rendering - from josephine harvatt, with a perfect choice of font and style. Love the moth head! Very neat clothing from michael sinclair, with a great cape and a good choice of angle for Arnie's head. But shouldn't the cape be flying behind him more, rather than falling below him? A well constructed web page from 2bfree: great angle on the Pisa tower, and the second entry shows an interesting short-sleeved version of the costume. A short but neat animation from james: a great costume, and some ingenious remodelling where he's grabbed by the octopus tentacle. I do like that dolphin head. Burberry rules for Steve Hill - but the pattern looks overlaid, rather than wrapping around the body. I like the idea of the pod coming loose from the London Eye, but shouldn't there be one missing on the wheel itself? A convincing trapeze scene from eggbox: that superhero looks rather like Jean-Luc Picard to me. I like the restrained red costume, though, but feel the toes could have been smoothed off by the end of a boot. Great earrings in the second entry though. Photoshop Man saves the day in Meltonian's entry: a very fine costume in the Photoshop colours, with the Healing tool shining its light on the world. A great satin texture here, and a good angle on the cape. An excellent gag from Ben Mills - with a neatly distorted body, and rather cute little socks. I wish him luck in lifting those ballerinas! A wonderful pooper scooper from Wayne, with the most animated cape yet and perfect Superman hair. Really funny work - and the clothes peg on the nose is an excellent final touch. A good reworking in the second entry too. Bit of a political comment from Steve Mac: a great body for Bush, and using the US flag as the cape works perfectly. Great flying dollars! Interesting to see so much ocean in Texas, though. Bush again, this time from Neal, with the Presidential Seal neatly distorted on his chest. Uh... you forgot your shoes, Mr President... Chocolateman flies in to save the day in katew's post, with a great choice of background scene. But if that's his reflection on the surface of the water, shouldn't it be upside down? A tricky bluescreen effect from Deborah Morley: all that canvas texture will make selection really tricky! an interesting costume texture, and the trident seems to be a good weapon. I really like the stylized buildings from celosia: but why all the ragged edges? And the superhero does seem to be rather flying out of the picture... First entry from dreamer, a new member here. It's a dreamy piece, with the superhero rendered as a metallic sprite: nice blending, although there's a bit of a hard edge at the bottom of the lake scene that could have been smoothly blended into the stars. Welcome to the forum! |
