Johnny, I took the pic out of the backdrop with looooadddsss of cutting - couldn't bend my hand for 24 hours! For colouring, I used the Hue/Saturation command, and wrote down the settings for each item so I could match it with other parts of that item (eg, for the horn, I had to select it in several bits, so I wrote down the HSL settings I'd used so it would be exactly the same on all the parts of it).

A First timer here. I've been doing montages for years with scissors and magazines. Learning how a computer handles it has been great fun, but it took me almost as long to figure out how to send the picture as it did to make it.

Kate, some precisions about how I colored the black and white image. I used for the horn a gradient map adjustement layer. With this layer, you can replace the tonal information in an image (or a selection of this image) with the colors of a gradient. Very convenient!
