Re: Contest 174: Public art
I feel im slowly starting to get a feel for photoshop, im gradually getting comfortable with layers and masking ect. I have just learnt how to make layer groups and layer comps which is handy because my layers palette was getting out of control. I used this weeks challenge purely as an excerise in perspective (which im not great at), oh and maybe threw in a couple of political digs here and there Put Paris in again for you steve, i must admit Paris has been on my list of things to do before i die for quite a while now most of the text was lost when i downsampled the image, the Virgin sign says "We Burn" on it, anyway you get the idea. incidentially the 'Airfrance' logo certainly isnt one of the political digs, i put that there just because it looked good. The actual 'statue' is of the former twin towers New York (manhattan island) RIP Johnny |

As the blessed Saint Pancras, patron saint of railway sleepers and railroad ties, decided to visit her station to see what all the fuss was about, she was minded to hover awhile under magnetic levitation unaware she was scaring the bejabers out of the travelling public! |

Wow! Super montage! Très bien pour la perspective toi aussi! I also like the theme that you used and the integration of the details. Vive la France! (mon papa était français) Félicitations! _________________ |

Semi-private message to Claude37 Claude37, are you out there? Your profile has deleted itself, which means I can't email you because all your details have gone. You sent me a PM about this, but I can't reply to it because you don't exist! Please, register again with a different name, and as soon as you do I'll change the name back and reinstate your title. Sorry about this - stupid forum software goes wrong occasionally. |

Re: Contest 174: Public art
Hi Atomicfrog, may I suggest a remark concerning your image: the texture is nice but the conversion of a photo into a stony statue imposes that the tone has to be the same for the whole statue because the material is the same. I mean that there will be no difference of tone between the skin and the clothes, and even in eyes. The pupils should be almost invisible, only suggested. It is the most difficult. (P 278/279 of Steve's book). If it is not made, it looks more like Middle Age painted statues… Hope you understand that I try to explain ! Claude |

Re: Contest 174: Public art
Well, I decided on a piece of 2D art. Steve, pleeeeeassssee make the perspective easier next time!! The stained glass was done by using a template of the type you can download from craft sites, and colouring it in by hand - took ages! The places are all in cities which are destinations from St Pancras. |
