I worked on this one quite a lot. It's 75% Photoshop 25% After Effects. Watch the video here (Full Screen for high quality):

I don't think I will be able to play this time. this is the first time I have been near an internet connection for a week. I have no photos on my laptop to play with as I'm busy filling it with beautiful scenary shots from the South Island.
Happy New Year everybody.

Happy New Year everyone!
Not much of a spread. Let's just say there is another table with more food and alchohol,
you just can't see it from this angle!

Looks like Eva has had a few already as she continues to playfully pat the waiter upside the head... no shame but drunk
people can be fun to watch!

Thanks all for the welcome back.

I could not copy and paste the mask in spite of the instructions by Rufus...perhaps Vista is to blame?

Here is a four-frame animated Gif. Click the pic for bigger.

Happy 2008 everyone - here are some old friends of ours who have got together for a party - sadly nothing like as sophisticated as the above !

Despite lack of photos and internet connection, I was able to download some last time I had a connection. should have brought the Cd from the book with me.
I have no spare space on this old laptop, as I'm filling it with photos from this trip, but I have been able to come up with something.
Happy new year!

Happy New Year to everyone - hope it's a good year for you all.

This is my 'Before' picture, which I was going to post New Year's Eve!

I was hoping to post a 'Morning after' picture, based on this, on New Year's Day, but 'burglars' have foiled my plans and although they didn't get in or anything (thankfully), I've been busy talking to Police and organising window replacements instead of Photoshop-'ing'.

Looking forward to 2008!!

Claire

Hi Claire,

Sorry to hear that you, too, have been plagued by these people. Glad to hear that you didn't lose anything. The best 'window' replacement is, of course, a MAC!

Happy New Year to you all. I may not have much time to participate for a while as I am going back to work!!!??? Someone dangled a large cheque in front of me to persuade me to be an instructor at the Scandinavian ATC College in Malmo. I shall have my laptop with me so I shall still be able to see what everyone is doing.

Hi Gordon,
enjoy Malmo, Just watch those clear drinks they give you in tiny glasses. The best thing about malmo is that Copenhagen is just over the bridge.

Thanks, actually that's funny and a coincidence that you should say that, I am currently working on a PC and am planning to move to a MAC and CS3 (can't wait) before the end of January.

Hope you enjoy your new career, and change of scenery!

Claire

Re: Contest 178: Happy New Year
Claire,
Glad to hear that you are converting. I'm still using CS2 on my old MAC but there are, I believe, a couple of bugs when using CS3 with the latest MAC OS. It would appear to be an OS problem rather than a problem with CS3 itself. Adobe and Apple are working on it.

Vibeke, thanks for the advice on the small clear liquids. I depart on Tuesday. If you don't hear from me for a couple of weeks please send some STRONG coffee!

Gordon

That's great, GKB! Perhaps there's a new book in the series poised on the (artificial) horizon: How to Cheat in Air Traffic Control?
