Re: Contest 187: Rebranding
I would love to have a go at this, but I am afraid college work is calling again. I am designing book covers for some H G Wells classics, Heeeeeelp!!!!!! No seriously it's not easy. p.s. Vibeke, love the green and blue of your McDonalds rebrand; the brown and cream muddy version they are using to rebrand at the moment doesn't inspire me at all. Claire |

Thanks, Like your water, where can I get a bottle... I'm afraid the bottles were a limited edition and have sold out. However, you can easily make your own! I took mine apart to show you how I did it this morning and - hey presto - got a cubist picture, which could possibly double up as another way to brand tap water. The bottle looks all right on its own, but in the other picture it definitely looks lopsided! |

I Like it, it's a bit when you can't get the internet going, phone your provider, get recorded messages, suggesting you check their site for messages about problems. |

Re: Contest 187: Rebranding
I've been thinking about Chris Berry's entries all day and have come to realize that an illustration for a magazine article is much like a movie poster in that they both need a title and a tag line. I'm going back to the drawing board and I'll be back with some graphics. Trade publication. Thanks Chris, I love that body under the dock. _________________ |

Virgin Gallactic Hotels... Beyond the Ordinary.
If I were to have a hero, it would be Sir Richard. Do you have any doubt that he and his company will one day put the first Hotel on the Moon? I don't. |

Re: Contest 187: Rebranding
You're absolutely right - an image for an article advertises the article. I would think of it as more than a movie poster. A press ad: with a headline and a subhead (if needed). This brief isn't about re-branding a product, but more about the subject of rebranding, so your thinking's dead right. I cheated a little bit tho'. My favourite image is the baby, but Steve asked for images relating to hospitality, so I did the pub to cover my butt. Glad you like the Murder poster - for this image my girlfriend shot me on the living room floor (with a camera, of course!). Chris |

I very much like the "cubist bottle" - a stunning image in its own right and one which I will probably steal at future date _________________ I'm not really bad - I just draw that way |

Trying to reach a broader clientele by going downmarket! It's a bit scary to think that the pic I used for 'Rooms and Suites' on this one was of an establishment's 'deluxe' room! |

Re: Contest 187: Rebranding
Having been tucked away in a secluded little corner of Sweden working at this week's Challenge I'm astounded at the number of us who have 'had a go' at the bottled water industry. The cynicism of the 'Evian' brandname where the customer is insulted in the ad has always amazed me. |

Here's my new and improved version. After a few glitzier efforts I decided to go with straightforward. _________________ |
