Re: Indiana Mick
Thanks Chris. I learned the control M color correction with this one. I try to tackle something new from the book each week. An interesting thing in this montage, is the crystal skull repetition: a total of six times to make the background (3) and foreground (3). Spielberg likes to use repetition a lot in his movies, so I sought to emulate him in this. It seems to lend a unity to the composition. I had to take a photo of my face with the correct light to make this one work. Plus, I'm 50, so I fit the new Jones clothing rather well I think. |

Steve Many congratulations for encouraging all these wonderful artists to participate on this site. All the work this week is absolutely fantastic and I know you'll enjoy looking at what you've played a major part in achieving. I'm sure I speak for everyone in saying that we would not have learned as much without your book, guidance and comment. I've only been on here since December, but have enjoyed this site and the interaction with others immensely. Not sure if this is eggsactly what you had in mind though. Nick |

I'd like to add to the chorus of thanks, wish I'd come here earlier. I'm glad though that my neighbors didn't come by while I was posing. Looking again glasses don't quite look very zombie-like. |

Re: Contest 200
Great images here again! I stuck myself in a trophy truck we were fortunate to get several years ago and thought it may be fitting for this Friday Challenge. Thanks Steve for being here for all of us. We are so fortunate to have you as a mentor and critic for our endeavors in photoshop! Click on the image for a detailed view.(In some cases, double click for full size image.) Neil _________________ "If I find 10,000 ways something won't work, I haven't failed. Hard to scare me, so great job! |

Re: Contest 200
james's decapitated statue is great for its subtlety -- the key to which was having his head at the right angle and perspective to look natural relative to the surroundings so his aristocratic profile doesn't jump out at the viewer. Good job! (I'm guessing that james approached this as a Photoshop exercise and did not mean to suggest that he was was a saint, headless or not. ) |
