Hi everybody,

Commandant Grande A’Tuin welcome you on this flight. We will arrive somewhere, sometimes. We remind you that this flight is smoker.

A’Tuin Airlines. The last smoking company...

Bonne semaine a tous.

With humble apologies to Terry Pratchett and Paul Kidby!

Thre are some brilliant entries this week in what has to be the Ultimate Friday Challenge... Discworld meets Photoshop.

I once had the pleasure of meeting Terry Pratchett, and asked him what he was on when he wrote his books. His reply? "Tea, and plenty of it!" The guy is a true genius.

For fans of the cover art, and the books, you might be interested in http://www.paulkidby.com/ where books and great prints signed by the artist and author (despite Terry's horrid illness) are available (at very reasonable prices)

Where is the "brimming with envy" emoticon when you need one?

I have to confess to not being a great fan of Paul Kidby as discworld illustrator though - he cannot draw orang utans and someone should have told him that Granny Weatherwax was supposed to be handsome not an old hag!

Wow - there are some fantastic images this week!

Still recovering after having Laser Eye Surgery late last week to correct my long and short sightedness - vision has improved 100% to what it was prior to surgery but still a bit blurry.

Brilliant animation as ever Tooquilos

but how can you be both long sighted AND short sighted?
Hope the blurriness goes soon (maybe you need to take more water with it )

Re: Challenge 286: Discworld
thanks Jo and Veronique!

Ive always had problems seeing close up...then in past few months the ability to see distances diminished quite quickly..to the point where i couldn't see the number plates on cars in front of me! Was below the legal limit for driving..hence I had to give it up till the problem was rectified.

I tried multifocals for a while but all that did was spin me out and i was falling and misjudging my steps..total disaster...causing more problems than they solved lol...so surgery was the final option and Im so pleased with the results. I can now see the rotten job my cleaners have been doing hahahahahaha.

Re: Challenge 286: Discworld
Excellent Anna.

I'm going out today to get a Discworld book to find out what I've been missing all this time.

Some great work this week. I reckon that if all the regular HTCIPers formed a company we could take on Pixar, Dreamworks and ILM.
