Excellent entries from everyone this week. A very tricky reconstruction job - it's good to see so many of you have put the time into solving this particular puzzle. Because the entries have all been of such a high standard, only very brief comments this week... James: Very fine. A touch too much green in the sepia, perhaps? Tooquilos: I like the subtle colouring, and the cleaned-up sky. Good to see Michael's work getting its comeuppance in the Bonanza-inspired animated version! GKB: Very clean. Are the edges a little soft? And the sky a touch too lumpy? Nick Curtain: Terrific colouring job! The blue blazer looks a little out of keeping, though. Garfield72: I like the stark, almost graphic effect here. Perhaps the frame is a touch too strong. Michael Sinclair: Clients, eh? What can you do with them? Good to see the close-up. They really are a miserable bunch! Deborah Morley: Good in the middle, but that bridge seems to be dissolving! Ben Mills: I like the starkness of this one - and the replacement sky is a big improvement. Love the plane and TV aerials! Puffin31939: Very clean, with a good approach to the sky. Brewell: very nice additions! Well chosen! Tom: Good to see you back! A very classical, effective retouch. PDelavigne: Watch the softness of the bridge on the right - it needs to be rebuilt. Jota120: Good and sharp - but still soft at the edges. Jimbean: A great painterly approach - nice work! BigVern: Good and sharp - is it a little too highly contrasted, though? Tissana: Interesting. I think there are times when you just can't use a Displacement Map! Emil: Very crisp - I like the way you've rebuilt the bridge. LagoDiLecco: Good foreground; the sky looks a little like it's spotlit, though. Great work, everyone, and thanks to Michael for inspiring this one. |

Thanks Steve and welcome back. On reflection it is a little too contrasty. I should have backed off the last curves adjustment I applied a little more. Thank you for an interesting photograph Michael. Cheers Vern |
