Re: Challenge 946: Updating Barney
The top executives of Mattel were left stunned at the reaction of children during the recent unveiling of Barney V2.5

Lovely Anna. Cute but still dinosaur.

Lots of fun stuff again this week.

Mariner - Concur with Loyd - but what happened to the right hand dino's right foot?

Anna I like the interesting dynamic between the dino and the children.

Michael I like the lighting, but poor "Road Runner!"

Something I prepared for this evening.

Thanks Frank. His foot is supposed to be buried in the sand. Oops!

Re: Challenge 946: Updating Barney
First to go Jurassic this week was DavidMac, with a remarkably vicious-looking tyrannosaurus trampling a tiny purple Barney. Nicely done, and I especially like the choice of font. But perhaps Barney could do with a change of expression?

It’s time for lwc to go full Disney with his rainbow Barney, who’s undergoing more than just a routine update. It’s a good treatment for him/her/them/it. An interesting morph in the second entry, but I there are tools that do the job more smoothly. I like the stick-waving prof in the third entry.

A cleverly dinosaur-studded graphic from Ant Snell, neatly showing the progression from real to childlike. Who is the one between the Flintstones’ Dino and the 1990 Barney? I don’t recognise it. Interesting how the spots evolved.

That’s a vicious-looking cave beast from Frank, and I like the fact that it’s clearly been constructed from the original Barney. Those fangs and eyebrows add greatly to the effect. Is that a pile of discarded bones and clothes on the right?

Barney goes disco for Josephine Harvatt, with what’s actually a rather charmingly decorated purple and black beast. I like the fact that you’ve used Barney’s eyes.

Interesting to see michael sinclair’s 12-year-old dinosaur animation. And good to see you made a new image for this Challenge, but weren’t you even slightly tempted to make it purple?

A cure shiny dino from tooquilos, with suitably spiky typography. I like the kids’ terror in the animated version - some real ingenuity there in the choice of footage and the angle of the added dinosaur.

I enjoyed Mariner's two Barneys manhandling Road Runner. Very convincing clutching hands, and I like the detail of Road Runner’s head feathers bending as they touch the ground. And I see you’ve sharpened Barney’s teeth! Good call.

______________

Meanwhile, here’s my version:

It was for Yahoo News, and curiously they hired three artists to illustrate the same story – see here.

I did remove his silly smile and turned the mouth down ....... obviously not enough. Tell the truth I was rather lost on this one. Thanks Steve.

Thanks Steve - not sure what that is - was in original photo - probably better removed - I was like David on this one - rather lost.
