Re: Challenge 1000
David, thank you for your lengthy answer. I shall look forward to seeing your fix in the problems section later this week. |

Re: Challenge 1000
Fun entries everyone... Ant - Great to see and 'hear' the moose make an appearance... David - I've never tried to make an animation with Photoshop, so I may not be much help. My entry's cloud speed was an over-exaggeration of Mr. Sinclair's clouds... you might try to create a 'reflected mirror' image of the clouds you are using for the animation, sometimes this can help to disguise the always present loop in a gif animation. |

Re: Challenge 1000
On the basis of my two day experience, not trying to make an animation in photoshop would definitely seem to be the wise route to take. Yes I tried mirrored doubling. It was the easiest thing to try first. I really though it would work but somehow it looked too obvious and jumped out. I shall be posting my final method (which has severe limitations) in the problems section later today. I am hoping someone can suggest something much cleverer. By the way in all the excitement I forgot to declare that the looped sky in my last entry involved some generative fill. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

More details here. Now I shan’t need to clog this thread with stuff that belongs elsewhere. Apologies Steve. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Re: Challenge 1000
So I tried very hard to emulate another style. it all started out very well with fast moving clouds and lots of explosions and destruction but then i began to realise that it was still all my own style after all http://vimeo.com/manage/videos/935502769 _________________ |

Re: Challenge 1000
Seventeen years ago, to the day, I picked a copy of Steve's book and flipped through it. My first thought was - I want to learn more about this 'Photoshop'. Who knew that such an ordinary moment would turn into a life-changing journey? Thanks Steve, not just for your books, mentoring, advice and friendship but also for this fabulous community you have created. http://vimeo.com/935681178 Some of the entries, I can spot the influence but in others I can't. However, they are all brilliant. Jurassic Park is epic, Gordon _________________ Dorothy: "there's no place like home!" |

Explosive stuff Gordon! Very good! Could have done with a few loud noises instead of that supermarket music. |

Re: Challenge 1000
Thanks Michael. Yes you’re probably right I should have put in a few bangs but I had already put in far too much time on this one. The ‘supermarket ’ music is actually John Williams’s theme music from the original Jurassic Park film _________________ Have you ever noticed that all the instruments designed to detect intelligent life are pointing away from the Earth? |

Except you seem to be something of a favourite for imitators. Like the clever way you have turned the man into a very casual driver. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |
