Good one Ant… Microsoft Copilot’s reply to your Chat GBT commentary: “In the binary dance of silicon minds, algorithms pirouette through data storms. They mimic wisdom, yet remain blind to their own ignorance. Artificial intelligence—a paradoxical symphony of brilliance and absurdity.” |

I was astonished to see something so wordy from you Ant! Now I know. Fun idea on your part. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

That's a great poster Gordon. Really captures the flavour. Driving under the limit? _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

An impressive array of entries: cowboys, African safari, night horror, fantasy , water, flying, racing, movie poster, and so on. Nice work all. I got a late start so tried for something a little different with so many ideas already used. |

http://vimeo.com/953435941 I wasn't sure which direction to take with this one, but I'm pretty happy with the outcome. The running commentary is hilarious, Ant. Josephine, I love the fairy amongst the bluebells. Beautiful. _________________ Dorothy: Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore |

Nicely done Anna … and with Enya thrown in for good measure. What’s not to like? _________________ Why is it that all the contestants in the ‘Miss Universe’ contest are all from Earth? |

Re: Challenge 1007: Ride that snail
Local news stated this morning that we have had 100 tornadoes in the state over the last thirty days… the urge to make yet another silly entry was overwhelming. Sorry ‘bout that! |

Re: Challenge 1007: Ride that snail
Looks like this might be my last entry for the foreseeable future as my pc has finally, after years of erratic behaviour, given up the ghost, and PS7 is not compatible with modern computers. Any recommendations for free editing software gratefully received _________________ I'm not really bad - I just draw that way |

Re: Challenge 1007: Ride that snail
Hi Josephine I can highly recommend Affinity Photo. It's not free but it's a very reasonable price and, what's even better, it's all yours with no subscription In many ways it's much better than Photoshop. There is a slight learning curve as Affinity does some things slightly differently but even I managed to find my way around it. The interface is very similar to Photoshop. http://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/ You can try the free trial at: http://store.serif.com/en-gb/checkout/?basket=86df20d0943e6612fd9f51a310bee0e7adf64d4ebb46885a _________________ Why is it that all the contestants in the ‘Miss Universe’ contest are all from Earth? |

Josephine What Gordon says. I have been using Affinity Photo for several years now and at aout £50 with no subscriptions it can do all of what PS can do except animations. |

Re: Challenge 1007: Ride that snail
Affinity Photo is close to photoshop so not too hard to learn. Most of the tools are very similar. Although there are differences you will need to get used to. Well worth a try. If you want completely free the best completely free alternative is probably GIMP. It's been around for years so it's stable and really can do just about anything Photoshop can. The interface is different and not very instinctive. Quite a learning curve. I tried it a few times but didn't persist. Like all open source software tutorials tend to be uneven in quality. Also very similar and completely free is KRITA. it's very simple and instinctive. I think it's fair to say it's stronger on drawing tools than post processing tools. Worth a look. Not a lot of tutorials when I last looked, but it's so simple that you don't need much. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Anna. Where do the domesticated dinosaurs come from? Normally I would guess some clever artist on Deviant Art or similar but, in this day and age, it is tempting to suppose AI. Usually I feel I can tell but, in this case, I am really undecided. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |
