Nice entries so far. David , I see you found a way to not do the obvious - well one. Gordon, your first entry, is it my eyes or brain or is your train going in reverse in the cab section? Nice rebuild my Mariner. Still plugging away with mine and not yet happy with, as David says the obvious approach. |

Re: Challenge 1041: Take the tram
Hi Frank The train is, of course, moving right to left as it leaves the station but we are 'looking out of the window' on the left side of the train as it moves forward. I could have reversed the footage but chose not to bother. i see from the footage of the accident at Toronto a couple of days ago that it is little bit chilly over there at the moment. looks like the pilot over-compensated for the cross wind and hit the wing on the ground. great that all got out. Keep warm, Gordon _________________ Whatever you do in life do it with the enthusiasm of a 4-year old in a Batman suit. |

Re: Challenge 1041: Take the tram
First to take the train (not a tram) this week was Ben Boardman, with a nicely populated carriage. I like the second boy peering out of the window, and the breastfeeding woman is a good contemporary touch. Should she be a little more saturated, perhaps? And the woman in blue seems to jump out rather. Good that the man now has someone to talk to. A couple more kids from GKB, complete with vintage toy train – no batteries required! I like the woman on the right, but she appears to be standing in a hole in the ground: look at the position of the feet on the girl in brown. Terrific motion in the animated version, with splendid rolling scenery and tunnels – and even a glimpse of last week’s Challenge. I have to admit, I know the Coronation Scot better as the theme to the Paul Temple radio series. I like the space entry, although the boy lifting his visor is alarming, but then I suppose so is the girl opening the window. Given how dark it is outside, though, we could really do with some reflections in the glass. I greatly enjoyed the animated version, especially the floating girl – glorious. But oh – that horrible song! That’s going to be stuck in my mind all day. A touch of satire from Ant Snell, on the “American Express”. I like the advertising notices, and the expert removal of the original train occupants. I think that pose will haunt Musk for the rest of his life. I greatly enjoyed the animated version, with brilliantly chosen snippets of speech – and I like the way the train keeps going backwards and forwards. Good work! Great train jiggling from michael sinclair, with waggling hands on the passengers. Interesting how the second train adds a 3D quality to the jiggle. I like the waves, of course, and the fact that you’ve preserved a reflection – although the reflected benches really should line up with the originals. Is it a train? Is it a tram? No, it’s a ski lift, according to Mariner. A very neat rebuild, with an expertly-recreated bench on the left. Good lighting on the passengers, and the desaturated train makes a better fit for the scenery. A glorious Life spread from DavidMac, with a huge cast of evacuee children crammed into the carriage (and indeed, my mother was one such evacuee from London). A good sense of depth here. My only issue is with the typography, but only a font geek like me would notice that the G is much too modern. Magical stuff from lwc, with a neat flying dragon . I like the jiggle of the train, and of the owl’s head. The Hogwarts logo on the window is a nice touch. A packed train from Frank, with the old man flipped to the other side and a decidedly suspicious ticket collector. Excellent motion in the animated version, with all the passengers jiggling independently. And yes, I imagine you Canadians are not too happy about your neighbours’ antics at the moment. Power to the resistance! |

Thanks Steve. I also had a difficult time thinking of something to do. The the evacuees popped into my head from nowhere. I really enjoyed doing it! _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |
