Thanks Steve. I think a lot of us missed the electric bar - we were too busy taking out the wire underneath! |

Thanks Steve. I didn't realize that was an electric bar! ![]() ![]() Neil _________________ "If I find 10,000 ways something won't work, I haven't failed. I am not discouraged, because every wrong attempt discarded is often a step forward".... Thomas Edison |

Re: Contest 194: Build me a fire
Thanks for the comments and welcome Steve. I now see what you mean about the perspective on the bricks. I did not notice that when I placed the bricks in the fireplace. Most of my attention went to creating the fire and trying to make the size of the people, chair and the lighting fit the scene. Everything in the fireplace was created from scratch. The Bricks, the fire (which took me some time to create to make it look like fire). The fire was created using the Custom Shape Tool and used the Fire shape to create the flames. Then I added the Clouds, Chrome, and the Plastic Wrap filters and several patterns that came with photoshop. The Bricks were created several months ago as an experiment in trying to create realistic looking bricks. I'll be happy to explain on how I created the bricks. Below is the original brick pattern that was used for the fireplace. ![]() Luis |

Thanks Steve, I'm thrilled to get a title, my first ever! The room color is both a photo filter adjustment layer and messing with a gradient map of colors in the flames. |

Re: Contest 194: Build me a fire
It's too hot! ![]() If you walk around in a pine woods here, you'll occasionally find a stump that's been preserved from decay because it's impregnated with its own resin. We call it "fat lighter" and it burns just like my fire. I think I'll just take this one outside and call it a campfire. ![]() Luis, those bricks look better than real. Go ahead and show what you did. _________________ I aim to give pause. |
