Really entertaining challenge, great entries from all.

Re: Challenge 342: Sophie's Choice
Very nice later entries all, enjoy. Amazing what can be done.

Wall of Death action:
Hope you don't mind sneak more than my share in this week. Bad few weeks past.
You can see my gif/animation skills limited.
Felt I had to add some quality and action to supplement first Wall of Death (Maybe not, I still like it, but question here). ... Jota behind, heli cops above. That stolen goat unstable ..... . Thanks Steve for your pencil box image of wood . Perfect. Guess you never envisaged it would become wall-of-death. (Ref; HTCIP CS5, but in earlier versions too)

Re: Challenge 342: Sophie's Choice
Plenty of inventiveness this week - starting with Eggbox, who has cunningly replaced the goat with a mirror. I like the idea, and the reflection of the photographer is a nice touch. A couple of points: the saturation of the mirror frame, and indeed the reflected grass, is just too strong (compare it with the grass on the left and right). And i the mirror itself just too horizontal? Perhaps a slightly more jaunty angle?

A new member this week, and Niavlys1908 has produced a very strong piece: one goat is being rescued from among hundreds of imprisoned animals. A great idea, with good signs and good construction. Welcome to the forum, Sylvain!

I liked Ben Mills' Express Window Company, especially the motion blur used to create the speeding effect. A good pair of arms holding the glass - except perhaps the right arm should be a little further out, or the glass a little shorter. Is the glass itself just a little too misty? And what's that little tick at the top right?

Nick Curtain has neatly slotted the bike into a video game, where it fits remarkable well - great shadow, subtle recolouring. And the goat doesn't seem bothered at all.

Plenty of extra stuff piled onto tooquilos's bike, including a tennis racquet, a fishing rod, a baseball bat, a pig, a chicken and a fish... and there's clearly a lot more wildlife on the roads. Good to see it all brought to life in the animated version - especially the blur at the end, as the bike zooms off into the distance.

Very subtle additions from brewell - in as much as a double bass and a tuba can be subtle, that is. But the colouring, shading and texture blend them so well into the scene - even the strap fits well - that they look like they were always in there. Nicely achieved, Bruce.

Another racing scene, this from Garfield72 - whose riders have ditched the goat, and laid in stocks of Kronenbourg instead. Seems like a fair exchange to me! A subtle shadow, and a well-placed bike: it fits well into this scene. the only thing I'd change would be to tone down some of the green in the bike and rider, perhaps pushing the whole thing a little more blue.

Our second new member this week is syssy, who has included the bike with a host of other bikers. A great fit, and the shadow matches the others exceptionally well. Welcome to the forum!

I like puffin31939's entry, the bike having taken on a nautical appearance, complete with flags, life jackets, floats (is that what they're called?) and a trailing anchor. I like the way the anchor is beginning to scrape into the grass: perhaps we should see the moment a few seconds later, when it has dug right in, the chain is taut and the bike is being pulled up? Just an idea...

A cunning inclusion from Jota120 in the Wall of Death - what always amazes me about these is how close the viewers stand. Difficult perspective, as you say, but a cunning placement that gets around the problem. The second entry has a gorilla sitting backwards and carrying a sprig of thyme. Well, fair enough: I'm sure it makes perfect sense to you, Trevor. No helmet for the gorilla? Shame on you! A much more congenial pose in the third entry - cute! I like the idea of the fourth entry, but the movement seems too jerky to make real sense... more frames needed!

A great reconstruction by Vibeke of a photo she "always wanted to take" - with baskets and kids piled on the bike. The kids do fit well, and it's a good choice of pose and angle. My only problem is that they're just too blue for the scene. Use Curves to take the blue down and add a bit of green and red, and they'll fit perfectly.

A magnificent animation from James, as an eagle swoops down to steal the goat. As with all James's work, you have to watch it a dozen times to see all the detail: the bike swerving as the eagle snatches, the flapping wings on the eagle, the little bounce as the bike goes over the horizon... tremendous work. James, have you got that shiny new iMac yet?

A great GIF from michael sinclair, with the bike trying to get past a truck carrying an unusually large haystack... I like the movement of the road surface, the wavering of the bike and the bouncing of the haystack. With the scenery, though, it needs to move past us in the foreground but, surely, it should remain the same in the distance? The jiggling shadows are good, too.

A reinterpretation from GKB, whose goat has ditched the riders altogether and set up on his own. Amazing work making him reach the pedals and handlebars. For such a side-on shot, though, a street scene taken straight on would have been much more appropriate: this goat does seem rather at odds with the traffic flow.

A jungle scene from JmarcP, with the goat just being rescued from apack of wolves. A great idea - just add a shadow to the bike, and it will be perfect.

A first Friday Challenge post from zombie67, who has integrated the bike into a clip from Star Wars. Very nicely achieved, and I especially like the addition of the Stormtrooper helmets. Perhaps a touch of Motion Blur to match the background?

Glorious work from emanuelefrau, who has ingeniously replaced the goat with an entire cow. I really like the way it has been bent over, with its legs dangling either side. A couple of points: the biker could really do with a couple of arms holding the cow in place; and the white parts of the cow are too blue compared with the background, which makes it stand out too much.

An entire household's worth of goods packed into Marty's entry - so much so that the bike itself has disappeared entirely. A terrific (and no doubt painstaking) cutout on the birdcage, and I like the fact that the goldfish bowl refracts the view seen through it: a touch of Spherize on there would have helped the bowl-shape impression. Overall a very clever construction.

I like that Josephine Harvatt's goats have come prepared for the "Troll Bridge" - three of them, presumably all Gruff. Or are they all Billy? I never can remember.

Obviously, it had to be a kitchen sink in Deborah Morley's entry - and what a lot of work it has been! Not just the beautifully drawn ropes holding it in place, but the shadows and reflections in the sink's surface... you've set yourself a mammoth task, Deborah, and achieved it magnificently. Beautiful!

Glad to see Sophie has entered for her own picture - and the goat has been replaced by a performing, er... what is that, exactly? Looks like a hamster... oh, I see, its a bear standing on its paws. I think. A great circus act!

The thing I like most about Emil's entry is not just the two bikers carrying a log between them, but the fact that we're viewing it through a car windscreen. Immaculate work, Emil - the marks on the windscreen give it real depth.

Thanks, Sophie, for the original!

As ever it is just those tiny details which trip one up and which, if included, could turn an OK picture into something so much better.
Thank you Steve for noticing and pointing them out.

Re: Challenge 342: Sophie's Choice
Thanks again Steve.
Bit funny, I seem to have metamorphosed into Anna/Tooquilos in the first named referenced link. I take that as a complement .
Shame on me indeed with no helmet. I think I might be sectioned though if I went to bike shop to ask for one. That said I've seen dogs with same and shades on bikes, trikes motor and cycles.
I need more practise / training on the animation. I was worried I could not get it small enough, and Tweening was not working for the wall. Any help, advice, welcome.

I don't think Josephine was wishing me an early birthday greeting - but that you had put her entry down in my name!

Steve, I started chapter 9 in your book after I uploaded. Your teachings on glass would have helped me make a much better fishbowl. Spherize how could I miss that. Thanks

Thanks for the compliment Steve. I rediscovered the Color Balance on this one - it made for a quick, unfussy colour change.

I think this might be a step too far but I am going to see if I can manage it over the next few weeks. If I do I'll post it on the forum.

Thanks for the comments, Steve. FYI They aren't floats they are called fenders.
