Thanks for the nice comments Steve! This was fairly quick to do; I created one path, I stroke it with the"Drippy water" brush in blue. I then edited the path to createa a fairly parallel track, used stroke again. I used the same brush for the white snow banks but added "drop shadow" and "Inner shadow" in the layers. I then erased and added to break the regularity! The background is a stretched "Clouds" filter. _________________ |

Thanks for the kind comments, Steve! ThreeDee Thriller, love it! As for the ground creeping up the lettering, I used the smudge tool to 'push' the ground onto the Text and the paint brush to paint the hard lines of cracks creeping up the letters. A little dodge & burn as well for dimension. --Chris |

Thanks Mr. Caplin for your kind comments. I'm new to Photoshop and have a long way to go to get anywhere near the level of these people here. I just want to say it's awesome to be able to communicate with the actual author of the book and your book is really helping me to learn and understand Photoshop and the forum is an unbelievable benifit that I didn't expect. Thanks again Neil _________________ Yesterday is History Tomorrow is a Mystery So Live for Today One Day At A Time!!! |

Thank you for the kind comments Steve. The rusting was done using a modified brush through the brush engine with variable size, angle, colour jitter and using a redorange foreground and dark brown background. I then kept plonking the brush around in various places which built up random amounts of rust. I then just kept adding adjustment layers with various selections, layer masks, blend modes, embossing, bevels, inner shadows etc. and eroding parts with knockout until it looked Ok. I got the ideas for this from a Bert Monroy tutorial on the Revision 3 website. BigVern |
