Re: Contest 89: Mother's Day
Glen, Apparently when you were 'shopin' my image you hit the flip horizontal button. As far as Whistler's Mum is concerned, I had been summoned to her home to fit her for dentures. Little did I know that I would be arriving during her bath time. Please note all of you dentally uneducated that, when her picture was painted by her son, she was not wearing her upper denture. This explains the caved in (stove in) look of her upper lip. Unfortunately many years prior to sitting for the painting she received dental treatment in the British Public Health Dental Service so now we see a 30 year old body with the face of an 80 year old(see Pierre's rendering). Upon completion of her new prosthesis I will be posting a picture. |

Before all hell breaks lose......the dental theme in my image is pure coincidental. Nothing to do with previous posts that I just saw now. |

Don't wanna get into a discussion but I don't see what all the fuss about Becky's GIF is all about. I thought it was brilliant and I don't understand why it should disturb people. Just don't look at it then...it's as simple as that. This is just the thing I usually hate about Forums. This endless going on about....things that aren't important or relevant really (in my humble opinion of course...). Let's stick to the images. So come back Becky...... |

Re: Contest 89: Mother's Day
As I saw it nothing was mentioned about Beckys' GIF other than in admiration - (I'm only guessing but) It seems to me that she took it on herself that the general comments about gifs and how just because they move that they add little to the image were aimed at her and has internalised this as a slurr against her work and talents which was and is not the case. If others in the forum had taken the comments in the same vein then by now we'd have no more blipping blopping avatars would we? _________________ most of the lack of sunshine in our lives is caused by us standing in our own shadow |

I'm not very happy with the result trying to create Mum's hands in my first image. I've tried to improve that in this picture. _________________ It must be a clipping mask, I never could get the hang of clipping masks |

Re: Contest 89: Mother's Day
The painter finally completed the second frame of his rapid fire sequence and now we see what Whistler's old mum was laughing at. |
