Darren, your site is awesome! How did you get that look? I cant do my sites like that, I cant even put text over the pictures. Know of any tuts so I can make a site like that?

Also.. I have given up with attempting to do the Friday Challenge. It looked like such a good one, but I cant do it. All the new-comers have beaten me. so I have given up

Thanks! It's a leafy sea-dragon (Phycodurus equus).

That's funny Lexus ... Is Clifford your dog? .. I must admit I could probably do with a few lessons in shadows myself .. I think I tend to overdo them if anything and then my pictures end up looking a bit murky

Re: Contest 84: Flood the city
Lexus nice entry very funny, kinda reminds me of the goodies! (showing my age). As for shadows I think people often are tempted to make them to dark in a attempt to make it obvious a shadow is there. I think the key is not to over do them, try reducing the opacity and then just applying a little burn at the areas that actually contact the ground.

jwhite very nice hehe, those flying turtles can be a real nuisance tho, in fact they've caused a few deaths whilst taking a dump overhead!!

Re: Contest 84: Flood the city
Lexus,
For a basic shadow:
Create a blank layer under the object layer.
Command click your object in the layers palette. While the selection is active , highlight the blank layer and fill with black.
Deselect. Transform>distort the shadow.
Adjust with opacity, blur, etc.

Tom, thanks for the shadow information, I found it useful too.

Chris, that's just another urban myth. The fact is that due to the weight of the turtle and the small surface area of their wings the flying snapper doesn't generate enough lift to become airborne. To overcome this, the turtle uses all waste material to generate a highly pressurized, high volume burst of methane gas. This natural posterior jet engine produces enough thrust for the turtles to become airborne. Near warp speed has been documented for captive turtles fed a strict diet of beans, hard-boiled eggs and broccoli.

Hi Lexus,
Yes it's in the same spirit and "command" is indeed "control".
Hope that helped.

Oh, and I also warped it to fit the shape of the hill and turned the layer opacity down till it looked right for me.
