Re: Contest 229: Christmas lights
Sorry Steve. I hosted it on one of my own sites, and I seem to have had problems with the server this week. I've moved the animation to http://www.kate.wilkey.org.uk/zpics.htm - I hope you get a chance to look at it.

Re: Contest 229: Christmas lights
Thanks Steve, I was very impressed by the quality of animations and glad i was of some help in helping people understand the process which can be a bit of a logistical nightmare especially when you animate several elements all at once.

These were created for the b3ta.com website (which is mostly very risqué adult humour not recommended for people with easily shocked sensibilities < this is an understatement it even shocks me at times and I'm pretty unshockable.)

Thanks Steve and Happy New Year! Paintballing sounds brilliant, can I come too?

That white lumpy thing is cloud from the moon pic. I had this great idea of a shadow sleigh/Santa diminishing against the moon... but then I got fed up and pissed off that it was taking so long. Patience should be a virtue, but I never went in for that crap personally.
(And if I'm not patient, what the hell am I doing with Photoshop? But we won't go there. )

Thanks Steve.

I wanted to do more, but I picked this week to do my upgrade to CS4, and then found out I didn't have enough computer to handle CS4. So Next came a computer upgrade, and all of the associated pain of moving everything to the new computer. I'm still not done with that unpleasant task.

I love that "geeseproof" paper !!

I was quite pleased with the snow eventually (even though the lights went a bit manic as a result of my tinkering)
I am sure I did it a very long way round though - it was good to attempt something ambitious but I think I shall concentrate on doing some simpler ones next in order to get my head round the programme.

I really played with the timing for the frames. I had considered doing a fade-out for the final frame, but was pretty much fed up with it. A longer final frame is a simple solution. Roll the credits!

Thank you Steve. Photobucket compressed it for some unknown reason even though I had created it in 16:9 widescreen. Happy New Year to everyone also!!

I love that Becky I tested the site. My threshold is high

Josephine, you got it smooth!! Great, I think it must have taken a long time .... no critique, enjoy,

As everyone said, great work on the animations. I was short on time (poor excuse) .... now the wheels are back on home turf

Happy 2009 to you all !!
