Contest 83: Valentine's Day
Well, it can't have escaped even the least romantic of us that February 14th is just around the corner. For those who don't live in the Western hemisphere, it's a time of year when greetings card manufacturers and florists make their biggest profits, and husbands worldwide wake up to the horror of having forgotten all about it yet again. So here's a loving couple, with a great image courtesy of the fantastic PhotoObjects.net. I'd like you to go the full Disney on this one: give me luuurve, baby, as corny and kitsch as you can manage. (And shouldn't they at least be gazing into each other's eyes?) High res is here. |

Ok, time for a little weirdness. I even incorportated a few things from previous FC's. The gargoyles took a while to manipulate (the "male" one had his hand on his face...I wanted the female pink, but just couldn't figure the color out), but I kind of like the way they turned out. Although the lighting on them is still odd, I thought the angles of their faces worked perfectly (well, almost). And since gargoyles are generally smaller than people, I didn't think it would be too much of a stretch to have them fit on the table top. |

This is mine before I send it on Monday. When you're getting older it gets harder to find just the right card to say what you mean... Ted HiRes: http://homepages.enterprise.net/tedeggs/fc/fc83card |

Nice eyes BJ. She's looking at him but what's he looking at? Is he looking into the middle distance and thinking of luuurve? T |

By unbelievable coincidence I found this porcelain box at a local flea market. Steve must have developed his idea for this week's challenge from this priceless piece of English bone china. |

Re: Contest 83: Valentine's Day
Just a bit of an old fashioned viewpoint and maybe why the headache pills were needed last week! (How else does one use up one's time when one is on one's own for a wet and cold and miserable weekend in February? No suggestions on a postcard please. The weekend is over.) PS. How did you get that plastic look to the couple mguyer? I wanted that on this montage. |

Plastic wrap...since the filter does not have a preview, I kept moving the sliders around until I got the look that I was after, that is, make it look like it was part of the porcelain |

Re: Contest 83: Valentine's Day
I was wrong...the plastic wrap does have a prieview and I was looking right past it. Nice job with tilting his head and putting nylon stockings on her is really a subtle and terrifice detail Bobby Jo |

File size too big for the forum. 195 kb Click (edit: I took the liberty of resaving it. Using SFW at 40%, the degradation isn't noticeable and it drops the file size below 100Kb - David) Ok David, I guess it doesn't matter on this comic book effect. I generally have a minimum quality I don't go under for web posting. |
