Contest 82: Put the glass on the table

A bit of a back-to-basics challenge this week. It's straightforward enough: a table, and a glass. And I want you to put the glass on the table.

Simple, eh? But probably one of the more difficult challenges we've had. Here are the high res pics of the table and the glass. Discussion of possible techniques and approaches is welcome throughout the week!

spent quite a bit of time on this one this morning!! Know my perspective is not right yet and that darn shadow......................
I think I'm not far enough along in the book.

its seems theres so many ways to approach tasks within photoshop...did this a fairly quick way but think i could/should do a little better! will try again tomorrow!

I'm off to the seaside for a few days rest. I discovered that staring at a screen for too long could give one a headache.... please, please don't suggest I should have put the pill in the water and made all that effervescence....thats something else that would have given me a headache.

Yeah, I know, I know...the glass is a little large.

First time and I had a problem with making the glass look good. Still a lot of learning to do!

Hmm this was tough. Think the glass looks o.k but couldn't quite figure out where the light is coming from. Think there is several sources of light in the room. However suspect most is coming from the right (probably a window behind the couch) which is why I think my shadow doesn't quite add up, oh well realised to late.

chris nice touch whith the small spot of focused light in the shadow very realistic.

Thanks Kenney, have to say glass is such a @#!* to work with! Still good fun though so I'm considering a second entry. Great ice cubes by the way but you must be mad? working with one transparent light bending object is hard enough and you add a second!!!!
