Contest 155: This sporting life
Ted Eggs has been to Wimbledon this week, as his excellent panoramas have shown. He was wondering what other use could be made of this arena and this crowd, and I'm also intrigued by the idea.

Here's your audience: put on a show!

High res is here.

A quick and easy one for me this week... just got back from the WPC (world pong championships) and I'm exhausted! There was a record crowd at the finals, pictured here... One minor delay occurred when someone tripped over the cord and power was interrupted.

Thanks Anna,

Those animations are really cool ! First one is my favorite. But I really like the lights in the second one. Well done!

Very clever Stefan!

The foreground crowd--which took over an hour with the Pen Tool-- was taken from outside the stadium; moreover, the immediate foreground has been darkened to reflect the overhang rim of the roof, and all the disparate elements have been colour matched.

I'll bet Eggbox would have been mildly surprised if this had really happened.
I wanted to work with the vanishing point filter, it was a learning experience.
The reflections, which do not show up well in these small renderings were the hardest for me to do.
I am not happy with the shadow on the field, I cannot decide on the actual angle of lighting, in order to place the monument down on the field.
Perhaps, if I get more time this week, I will attempt to improve it.
My apologies to those who do not appear here, you are on the other side...

Starting photo,

Developed into this,

A really hard one to get the prespective right on. It took me a lot longer to find something to fit the prespective than the actual work to do the picture. And for those of you wondering where his feet are, they are in the walkway around the dome.
