Contest 194: Build me a fire
A fine marble fireplace. But what's this? An electric fire? That will never do. I'd like a real log effect in here, please. Unless you can think of an alternative way of heating this room?

High res is here.

Hello all,

New member here, long time admirer of the book and weekly contest though!

Thought I would give it a shot, be kind, I know I didn't play around with the lighting, but I did give my first go at any sort of reflection!

Also, how the hell do you post the picture to come up in here directly? I tried the [IMG] tags!

Hi Philbo,
Welcome to the forum.
To get an image posted directly just flatten your original, go to Image>Size and make the longest side around 600 - 750 pixels. Then go to File>Save For Web and adjust the quality until you get it just under 100K.

Then just sign on and post the attachment with your missive.

Gordon

I couldn't possibly compete. All the efforts so far have been far superior - I would have forgotten the reflection no doubt as well.

Hi Neil,
You still have the electric flex under the fire. Like the flames, though.

How very cozy these have all been!
It has been record breaking cold here- I started whilst snow was on the ground (west of Seattle Wa. us in the banana belt no less) so playing with fire was a pleasure.
